Self-catering

Another option

Some of our students prefer to be in their own independent accommodation and to cook, wash and clean for themselves.

For younger students, flatshare or homeshare is a possible option. However, it is best for students to start by living with a homestay and settle into Oxford first and then to look for suitable accommodation in the city.

For mature students on short courses, we do still recommend living with a homestay as it is a great way to talk and exchange cultures. Students have their own key and complete independence, all meals are provided (except lunch on school days), and some homestays have private bathrooms. However, for students who wish to rent self-catering accommodation, we can help arrange this. To rent a 1 or 2 bedroom house/apartment, the cost is usually from £400 per week.
