I think my stay in Oxford has helped me to improve my English. My lessons were serious and never boring. Excursions and activities were great. Lake School is very good.

Timetable

Interactive, lively classes mean fast progress

All students follow the same timetable, except students who are taking a Semi-Intensive General English course for 15 hours per week. Semi-Intensive students have the same morning timetable, but they do not study in the afternoons.

In your lessons you will have a wide variety of interactive and focused classroom activities. You will have the opportunity to practise grammatical structures and new vocabulary in authentic situations. You will receive personal attention and your teachers will adapt the content of the course to suit the particular needs and interests of your group.

All students have a progress test every Friday to review and revise the grammar, vocabulary and skills learnt in the week's classes. There is homework every night.

The school is open from 8am to 5.30pm, Monday - Thursday, and until 4.30pm on Friday. All students can use the free self-study facilities, email and Internet access when they are not in class.

Inclusive cultural, social and sporting activities

Every Tuesday afternoon there is a cultural activity such as a talk from a guest speaker or a guided cultural visit. Every Wednesday or Thursday evening there is a social activity, such as a pub evening, club night, or party at school. There are also regular sports activities, such as football, ice-skating and punting on the River Thames.

These activities are included in your course fees. (When the social activity is not held at the Lake School, you will have to pay for your drinks.) Everyone is invited to join in and take part!
